The App is designed as an offline-first woodworking and lumber estimation tool:
- Local Calculation Data: Your board foot measurements, piece counts, waste percentages, lumber species prices, and saved cut list tallies are stored exclusively on your device using a local database (Room Database).
- Personal Information: We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or contacts.
- Export & Share: When you use the "Share Estimate" or "Export" features, the data is shared solely through your device's standard Android share sheet to the destinations you select.
2. Advertising & Third-Party Services (Google AdMob)
To keep this application free to use, we display non-intrusive advertisements provided by Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK).
Third-party SDKs, such as Google AdMob, may automatically collect certain diagnostic and non-personally identifiable information according to Google's policies, including:
- Advertising ID (Google Advertising ID / GAID)
- Device manufacturer, model, operating system version, and general network connection type
- Coarse location (country/region level derived from IP address) to serve relevant regional ads
- Ad performance metrics (impressions, interactions, and crash analytics)

Estimates Only: The calculations, board foot formulas (Thickness × Width × Length / 144 or metric equivalents), waste allowance factors, and cost totals provided by Boardfoot Calculator are intended strictly for general estimation, woodworking planning, and educational purposes.
No Commercial Guarantee: Actual timber measurements, mill surcharges, nominal vs. actual lumber sizing (e.g., 4/4, 8/4, S4S surfacing), moisture shrinkage, grain defects, and supplier grading standards vary across sawmills and lumberyards.
User Responsibility: Always verify material requirements, saw kerf allowances, and total purchase quantities with your timber supplier before purchasing, milling, or cutting valuable wood. The developer and contributors assume no liability for material shortages, cutting errors, calculation discrepancies, or financial losses resulting from the use of this application.
3. Device Permissions
The App requests minimal permissions strictly needed for operation:

android.permission.INTERNET): Required to load advertisements from Google AdMob servers. - Zero Storage Permissions: The App does not require access to your camera, microphone, contacts, location, or personal media files.
4. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
The App does not knowingly collect or solicit any personal information from children under the age of 13. If you believe that personal data has inadvertently been provided by a minor, please contact us immediately, and we will take prompt steps to remove it.
